For hospitality operators

Before You Donate Prepared Food

Talk with the receiving organization before setting aside or transporting food. Confirm what it can accept, how food should be packaged and labeled, pickup or delivery arrangements, and temperature-control requirements.

Keep food safety in focus. Follow applicable food-safety requirements and the recipient’s handling procedures. Do not donate food if its safety, storage history, or temperature control is uncertain.

AHA curates these links as a starting point. Program availability and requirements can change; confirm details directly with the organization or responsible agency.
