WHAT IS PROSTART?
ProStart® is a nationwide, two-year program for high school students that develops the best and brightest talent into tomorrow's industry leaders. From culinary techniques to management skills, ProStart's industry-driven curriculum provides real-world educational opportunities and builds practical skills and a foundation that will last a lifetime.
HOW PROSTART WORKS
By bringing industry and the classroom together, ProStart gives students a platform to discover new interests and talents and opens doors for fulfilling careers. It happens through a curriculum that includes all facets of the industry, and sets a high standard of excellence for students and the industry. ProStart has become a talent pipeline for careers in the foodservice industry.
PROSTART NATIONAL CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
Students who have completed the requirements of the ProStart program are awarded an industry-recognized certificate- the ProStart National Certificate of Achievement. To earn the certificate, students pass two national exams, demonstrate a mastery of foundational skills and work 400 mentored hours.
SCHOLARSHIPS
ProStart students who choose to pursue post-secondary school degrees/certifications receive special consideration for scholarships awarded by ATHEF.
The Arkansas ProStart Invitational will be held March 7-8 at UA-PTC. Winners will proceed to the National ProStart Invitational, May 8-10, in Washington, DC.
